A 49-year-old man convicted of drug trafficking was hanged at the Kajang Prison.
Gan Kim Siew, who was unemployed, was sentenced to death by the High Court in Shah Alam on July 6, 1993.
He failed in his appeal at the Federal Court on October 19, 1997 and his petition for clemency to the Selangor Pardons Board was also rejected, the Kajang Prison said in a statement.
He was sentenced under Section 39B(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 which carries the mandatory death sentence upon conviction.
