A business man was sentenced to death by the High Court for murdering a motor spare parts shop assistant outside a pub in Taman Thivy Jaya in Rasah here last year

A business man was sentenced to death by the High Court for murdering a motor spare parts shop assistant outside a pub in Taman Thivy Jaya in Rasah here last year. Justice Datuk Hashim Yusoff found Wong Teck Choy alias Alex Wong, 46, guilty of causing the death of Seow Nan Keong, 27, by shooting him, in front of Goal Pub, in Taman Thivy Jaya, Rasah here between midnight and 12.15am on Jan 14, last year.
Wong was charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code which carries the mandatory death sentence on conviction.
In his judgment, Justice Hashim said that even though the defence contended that Wong acted in self-defence, it failed to prove this.
