The High Court fixed October 7 for the trial of a 13-year-o ld boy charged with the murder of his tuition teacher's 11-year-old daughter in May this year

The High Court fixed October 7 for the trial of a 13-year-o ld boy charged with the murder of his tuition teacher's 11-year-old daughter in May this year. Deputy Public Prosecutor Azhar Abdul Hamid told the court that the Public Prosecutor had rejected an application for the charge to be reduced when representation was made by defence counsel Jasvinderjit Singh.
The Form One student is alleged to have caused the death of the Standard Five pupil, Liew Mei Fong, at her house in Taman Sri Rampai in Wangsa Maju here between 3.30pm and 4.30pm on May 30. The charge under Section 302 of the Penal Code carries the mandatory death sentence on conviction.
The boy pleaded not guilty to the charge when first produced before the High Court on July 15.
