Ellis Louis Mashburn Jr. pleaded guilty to beating, stabbing and killing his 80-year-old grandmother and 85-year-old grandfather.
Prosecutors said robbery was the motive behind the slayings.
The judge must now decide whether to accept the jury’s recommendation or give Mashburn life in prison without parole. Mashburn’s sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 10.
