A convict in a murder case washung to death at the Kot Lakhpat Jail in Lahore. The deceased, Shabbir Hussain, along with his accomplice Ramzan six years previously had killed a friend, Riaz of Farooqabad, after committing unnatural offences with him. They were sentenced to death in 1996. The co-accused Ramazan had already been hung as the President of Pakistan rejected his mercy appeal.
