A convicted armed robber was publicly hanged in the southwestern Iranian city of Ahwaz, the Entekhab daily reported.
The paper quoted a court spokesperson as saying that Soheil Salehi Asl-Soreh had been convicted of carrying out a series of armed robberies on a road near the city over the past year.
In Iran, the death penalty is imposed for murder, armed robbery, rape, blasphemy and serious drug trafficking.
