The website of the Iranian daily Jomhuri-ye Eslami reported that verdicts issued against five persons condemned to death for rape and murder had been implemented at Tehran's Qasr Prison. Habib Afrasiabi, Majid Bagheri, Ali Keshavarz, Younes Siahpoush and Akbar Sharifi were executed at dawn in the prison courtyard. "Close relatives of the victims were present at the prison when the convicted persons were hanged," the report added.
