A day after finding Kellen Parker, 20, guilty of 1st-degree murder, a Jefferson Parish jury could not agree Sunday whether to sentence him to death, meaning he automatically will be sentenced to life in prison without parole. He will receive the the sentence at a Dec. 16 sentencing hearing in front of 24th Judicial District Judge Hans Liljeberg. The same jury of 7 men and 5 women had taken less than an hour Saturday to find Parker guilty of 1st-degree murder for his role in a June 6, 2002 home invasion in which Paul Fasullo, 39, was stabbed to death and his wife Shannon Fasullo, 23, was critically injured.
