A Camden County jury was unable to reach a unanimous verdict on whether a convicted killer should be executed for two of three murders in a January 1995 dispute over how a marijuana distribution operation. As a result, Hugh Josephs, a native of Jamaica, will be sentenced to terms in state prison. Superior Court Judge Linda Baxter set a Jan. 30 sentencing hearing. A jury had deliberated for more than 2 full days before advising the court late Thursday afternoon that it was unable to reach a unanimous verdict on the penalty. Josephs, 31, faces a life term with a 30-year parole bar for each of the 3 killings. Baxter will determine if the terms should be served consecutively or concurrently. Found dead in the apartment were Barrington McLean, 25; Leon Mitchell, 38, and Christine Williams, 27, also natives of Jamaica.
