A federal jury sentences Branden Basham to death for the November 2002 kidnapping and killing of Alice Donovan, 19. Basham and co-defendant Chadrick Fulks were convicted earlier of charges including kidnapping resulting in death and carjacking resulting in death. Basham and Chad Fulks also are also charged with abducting and killing a 19-year-old college student from West Virginia. Neither woman's body has been found. Fulks received a death sentence on June 30, 2004 (see). Basham faces a formal sentencing hearing in the next 2 months (see).
