A labourer who was sentenced to death for dadah trafficking escaped the gallows when the Court of Appeal allowed his appeal.
Judges Datuk Denis Ong, Datuk Kadir Sulaiman and Datuk Wira Mohd Noor Ahmad sentenced Sanusi Ismail to 16 years in jail and 10 strokes of the rotan after hearing submissions.
Sanusi, 31, had been sentenced to death by the Kota Baru High Court on November 30, 1995.
