A Lehigh County jury sentenced 21-year-old Ramon Sanchez to death on March 13, and Lehigh County Judge William E. Ford approved the death penalty Thursday during a sentencing hearing. Sanchez was convicted of killing Lloyd Gehret, 67, in July 2001. A jury convicted Sanchez of first-degree murder, robbery, theft and receiving stolen property.
