The family of Malaysian computer engineer Noor Suzaily Mukhtar said they felt her death was vindicated with the death sentence imposed on Hanafi Mat Hassan.
The parents said they were still mourning the death of their only daughter although they had accepted it as takdir (fate).
"I am glad the sentence given fits the crime," said her father, Mukhtar Ibrahim.His wife, Harison Husain, 50, also expressed the family's gratitude to the sympathy shown by Malaysians and gave her thanks to the judge and those involved in the investigation and prosecution.
