A People's Court in Laos condemned three drug traffickers to death

A People's Court in Laos condemned three drug traffickers to death. Nang Chanhsamone Anoulak, a 27-years old woman, from Nkaham, Sikhotabong district, Nang Davone Kèodara, a 42-years old woman, and Thao Khammane Kèodara, 52, both from Pholphanaou, Xaysettha district, were found guilty of possessing and trafficking 2.750 grams of heroin and 16,000 amphetamine tablets and convicted under article 135 of the Penal Code. The Court confiscated the drugs, a truck, a telephone and 76,000 bahts. All three were arrested on March 7. The two girls were detained after selling 2000 amphetamine tablets. This was the first time that the People's Court in Ventiane Prefecture condemned people to death for drug-related crimes.
