A public-sentencing rally was held in Hangzhou to pronounce judgment on 11 alleged drug criminals involved in eight cases - including one death sentence, which was carried out afterwards on Wang Chao. Wang was accused of trafficking in 77.82 grams of heroin in December 1999, and possessing 2,324.63 kg of heroin when he was caught on the tenth of that month. Two other unidentified people were sentenced to death with a stay of execution and life imprisonment.
