A Saudi citizen convicted of murdering a compatriot was beheaded by the sword in the capital Riyadh. Mendeel bin Attiya bin Sudan al-Zahrani was executed for shooting to death Saeed bin Atwan bin Saleh al-Zahrani during a row and then using his car to run over the man's
dead body, said a ministry statement quoted by the official SPA news agency. The beheading took to 14 the number of executions announced in Saudi Arabia in 2003, according to ministry statements monitored by AFP.
