A sick internet game which awards points and prizes for predicting who will die next on Death Row is attracting thousands of contestants, the Scottish Daily Record reported.
Fantasy Death Row is based on popular fantasy football leagues - but instead of gambling on soccer stars, contestants pick a team of three condemned men and win points each time they escape justice.
Inmates, including Scot Kenny Richey, are awarded points every time they win a stay of execution. If they die, they lose their team captain 10 points.
The game has been condemned by Richey's supporters as "twisted". But its creators - two Texans who call themselves The Warden - insist it is just "good sport".
Richey, originally from Edinburgh, has been on Death Row in Ohio for 15 years for murdering a little girl. He still protests his innocence and is appealing his conviction.
The Fantasy Death Row website has received thousands of hits from all over the world since its launch. Amnesty International described the website as "sickening" and urged people not to use it. A spokesman said: "This is exactly the sort of thing that disturbs us about the internet, to turn the plight of people on Death Row into a game is sickening."
