About 100 ethnic Oromos were executed at the beginning of November after being detained by EPRDF [Ethiopian People's Revolutionary Democratic Front, ruling coalition] armed forces.
The Oromo Liberation Front said in a report that the ethnic Oromo farmers and businessmen from various districts of Bale and Borena zones [southern Ethiopia] were executed after refusing to be disarmed by the EPRDF defence forces.
The Voice of Oromo Liberation said that during the execution in Arebo District, the EPRDF defence minister, Abadula Gemeda, and the president of the Oromiya Regional State, Juneidi Sado, were in the area hunting down ethnic Borenas.
The radio said that the ethnic Oromos were suspected of being members of the Oromo Liberation Front. It added that five bodies of ethnic Oromos killed by EPRDF forces were also found November 18 in the middle of the road in Robi town of Bale Zone.
