Swaziland senators have presented a motion demanding the Ministers of Constitutional Affairs and Justice to eventually fix a date for the execution of 12 death row inmates [four of them have been given a royal pardon].
They are asking the Minister to send the Parliament a report on the reasons why the convicts have not been executed since they were under State control.
The senators are asking the Minister an explication on the non-recruitment of an executioner, being it the reason for the execution delay.
The last execution in Swaziland (by hanging) comes up to 1981. The 12 convicts sentenced to death have all been found guilty of murder.
