Adam Tembo, 29 and Joseph Musonda, 25, two policemen, both of Kamfinsa mobile unit were sentenced to death by Justice Rueben Mwape of the Kitwe High Court for armed robbery.
Tembo and Musonda armed with a gun, robbed Philip Nduta, a Kenyan, his wife Anna Mwajevire and Meswin Nkunda as they were having supper together in their house in Kalulushi district on December 22, 1996. After threatening the victims and beating up Nduta, they made off with money, a passport and 50 pieces of emeralds."I sentence you to death and order that you should be hanged by the neck until pronounced death," said the court.
