Three men were convicted of various crimes in the eastern province of Nangarhar in 2004, including the murder of an intelligence director and attacks on the offices of the UN mission in Afghanistan, Radio Television Afghanistan (RTA) said. They were executed in Kabul.
The fourth man was hanged for murder in Kabul. He had been convicted of poisoning and killing relatives in the city and stealing from them. He had also been guilty of other murders.
Afghani television reported that two men were hanged in Herat and Takhar provinces. A court previously convicted Saheb Khan of the murder of one of his relatives over an inheritance dispute. Firoz Ahmad was convicted of sexual assault and the killing of a 5-year-old child.
