AFGHANISTAN: TALIBAN STONES COUPLE ACCUSED ON HAVING AFFAIR TO DEATH

a married man, 28, and his lover, 23, were stoned to death in front of a crowd by the Taliban in a Mullah Qali bazaar in a Taliban controlled village in Northern Afghanistan. The couple had fled the village, but the man was told he would not be harmed so they returned and were immediately arrested. A tribal council found them guilty of adultery.
