ALGERIA SENTENCES 13 TO DEATH

an Algerian court handed death sentences to 13 Islamists, the Algerian News Agency reported. The condemned, who were in absentia from the court in Boumerdes, east of the capital Algiers, were found guilty of "belonging to an armed terrorist group", kidnapping, issuing death threats, and murder.
