BANGLADESH: FIVE SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR WAR CRIME

The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) on 15 October 2019 sentenced five war criminals to death for their crimes against humanity during the liberation war in 1971, reports UNB.

The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) on 15 October 2019 sentenced five war criminals to death for their crimes against humanity during the liberation war in 1971, reports UNB.
The three-member tribunal led by justice Md Shahinur Islam pronounced the verdict.
The condemned convicts are Md Ranju Mia, Abdul Jobbar, 86, Md Jafijar Rahman Khoka, 64, Md Abdul Wahed Mandol, 62, and Md Momtaz Ali Beparyi Momtaz, 68.
Among them, Md Ranju Mia was present on the dock while the others were tried in absentia.
Among the six accused in the case Ajgor Hossain Khan passed away earlier.
