A Kushtia court on 25 October 2018 sentenced three people to death for killing a schoolboy after abduction in 2011.

A Kushtia court on 25 October 2018 sentenced three people to death for killing a schoolboy after abduction in 2011.
The condemned convicts were identified as Sabbir Khan, son of Abdul Gaffar, resident of Kalisangkorpur area in Kushtia, Helal Uddin, son of Azam Ali, resident of Kusthia sadar and Abdur Rahim, son of late Mulim Sheikh, a resident of Doshmail area in Bheramara upazila.
According to the prosecution, the convicts abducted Muttasim Bin Mazed alias Hridoy, 14, from Mollahtegharia area and demanded Tk 12 lakh to his mother Taslima Khatun on May 23, 2011.
Later, the convicts strangulated him to death as Hridoy’s mother failed to give them money on October 3, 2011.
