Abdul Khalek Gharami, 46, of Guabaria village in Galachipa Upazila, Bangladesh, was sentenced to death by District and Sessions Judge M Majnul Ahsan for killing his wife in 2005. According to the prosecution, the convict hacked his wife Joynab Bibi, 35, to death following an altercation over her going to a mobile phone shop to talk to her daughter living elsewhere on June 4, 2005.
