The convicts are Zahrul Islam, 20, son of Amir Ali and Matiur Rahman, 18, son of A Salam of Kalmudanga village in Sapahar Upazila. They were also fined Tk 10,000 each.
According to the prosecution, the convicts had raped Ribina, 10, and then strangled her to death while she was returning home after selling eggs at religious congregation on December 23, 1998.
Police submitted a chargesheet against the two young men after the victim's father filed a case with local police.
After examining the records and witnesses, the Tribunal Judge Abu Ahmed found them guilty of murder and handed down the verdict.
