Sohrab Hossain, in his early 30’s, was sentenced to death and three female accomplices were awarded life imprisonment by a court in Dhaka, Bangladesh. According to the prosecution, during a raid on March 8, 2006, the convict, his wife Nasima Begum and associates Sufia Begum and Shahida Akter of Hajirpara village were found to be inserting heroin into tiny pack in a house in Shympur. Narcotics officials seized one kilogram of heroin from their possession. Hossain broke down in the dock upon hearing the verdict.
