a man by the name of Sobhan was sentenced to death and five others were sentenced to life imprisonment by a District and Sessions court in Munshiganj, Bangladesh, after being convicted of murder. Those sentenced to life were: Pintu, Mosharraf Hossain, Rajib, Dalim and Mokhter. Of the six people convicted, Sobhan, Dalim and Mokhter were tried in absentia. According to the prosecution, Sobhan and his accomplices gunned down businessman Shabuj at Ganakpara in Munshiganj on December 17, 2002, following a previous dispute.
