A man named Bipul was sentenced to death in absentia by a Speedy trial Tribunal in Dhaka, Bangladesh, for the murder of a neighbour in Kotiadi, Kishoreganj. The court acquitted Emilee, the woman accused of assisting Bipul stab her husband Borhanuddin Bakul to death on April 7, 1997. According to the prosecution Borhanuddin saw his wife Emilee and neighbour Bipul in a compromising situation in his house in Pangashi village, the two, enraged, later conspired to kill him.
