BANGLADESH: THREE SENTENCED TO DEATH IN CHUADANGA

Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal Judge Motahar Hossain sentenced three men to death for of killing two women after raping them. The three men were identified as Azid, alias Azizul, 35, Mintu, alias Kalu, 30, and Sujan, 36, of Railaxmipur village in Alamdanga upazila. The court also fined them Tk 2 lakh each. According to the prosecution, Finge Khatun, 35, and Kamala Begum, 40, were raped and murdered in a field at Railaxmipur village on September 27, 2003. Later, their bodies were recovered from a banana orchard nearby.
