Additional District and Sessions Judge Reza Tarique Ahmed awarded two men capital punishment for killing a housewife at Chachoir village in Sadar upazila, Bangladesh, seven years ago. The convicts, A Razzak, 50, resident of Ramjankati in Sadar upazila, and Shahidur Rahman, 28, of north Bagri of Rajapur upazila, were also fined Tk 10,000 each. According to the prosecution, the robbers slaughtered Jahanara Begum, wife of late Karim Talukder, in front of her children as she identified the bandits during a robbery at her house on September 24, 2000.
