Bashkortostan (Russia) Interior Ministry staff arrested a Tajik citizen (Akram Yusupov), 36, who had been hiding for over a year from Tajik law-enforcement bodies that had put him on the international wanted list

Bashkortostan (Russia) Interior Ministry staff arrested a Tajik citizen (Akram Yusupov), 36, who had been hiding for over a year from Tajik law-enforcement bodies that had put him on the international wanted list. The ministry said that the Tajik Interior Ministry's directorate for Leninobod Region had charged Yusupov with illegal possession and sales of arms. He is also believed to have participated in hostilities on the side of bandit groups that attempted to conduct an overthrow of the current Tajik authorities. Therefore, Yusupov could be charged with organizing a mutiny. Death penalty envisaged for such crimes has not been abolished in Tajikistan yet. Bashkortostan authorities were going to extradite Yusupov to Tajikistan.
