Vasil Yuzepchuk, sentenced to death for murdering six old women, complained to the UN Human Rights Committee. Yuzepchuk insisted he was denied a fair trial and tortured. Interrogators allegedly beat Yuzepchuk to extract confessions from him, and the court allegedly failed to call witnesses who could have given evidence. On June 29, the Brest Regional Court sentenced the 33-year-old man to death.
