BELARUS. MURDERER OF PREGNANT SHOP ASSISTANT SENTENCED TO DEATH

Alexei M. Serdukov, a 36-year-old jobless resident of the Ivatsevichi district, Brest region, was sentenced to death by a regional court panel for the murder of a pregnant shop assistant.
The man shot the 26-year-old-girl in the head and stole 400,000 rubles in cash, two bottles of brandy and cigarettes from the store. The man had two previous convictions, including intentional murder. Police established his identity hours after the crime in the Izumrud store in Ivatsevichi. The murderer reportedly left his fingerprints and shoe marks. In the basement of a nearby house, police officers found the gun, money and two cartons of cigarettes.
