BLASPHEMY ACCUSED SENTENCED TO DEATH

Abdul Hameed, 45, was sentenced to death for blasphemy by Judge Pattoki in the Additional District and Sessions Court in Kasur, Pakistan. The complaint was registered by a prayer leader, Qari Ghulam Mustafa, however the defence said a property dispute with one of the prosecution witnesses, Rana Shamaon, was the reason behind the case. Hameed is to appeal against the verdict in the Lahore High Court in a week.
