Pablito Andan was executed by lethal injection. He was originally due to be executed on May 28 but had been granted three separate stays of execution. The execution went ahead despite last-minute appeals for a reprieve by Pablito Andan's children, lawyers and the Catholic Church. The Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines has renewed its appeals for an end to the death penalty.
