Cai Gang, an unemployed Chinese man who burned his daughter alive to get her life insurance, was sentenced to death. Cai, a resident of central China's Hubei province, doused his daughter's room with petrol and set it aflame after she had gone to bed in October last year, Xinhua news agency said on its website. Although fire fighters arrived at the scene, it was too late to save the girl, the agency said. Cai got the idea to perform the crime from the death of his elder daughter, which had resulted in a handsome payout from the insurance company, Xinhua said. Only two days after his second daughter's death, Cai went to his insurance company to claim more than 66,000 yuan (7,950 dollars), according to the report. It reportedly turned out that Cai had told his daughter to buy a whole series of insurances.
