Achour, alias Salah, current commander of the Salafi Group for Call and Combat (GSPC), was sentenced to death in absentia by the criminal court in Constantine, Algeria, the Algerian daily El-Khabar's website reported. He was accused of belonging to an armed terrorist group and murdering several citizens. It was reported that the accused joined the terrorist group in 1995 and had become Constantine area commander.
