Charles Waiguru Wamuhito, convicted of violently robbing his brother of Sh400 was sentenced to death. The charge against Charles Waiguru Wamuhito stated that on April 3, 2002, at Nyamakuyu village, Nyeri, caused grievous bodily harm during a violent robbery. Senior Resident Magistrate Charles Nyamweya said that the accused may not have intended to rob his brother but to finish him off over an existing land dispute. Although he considered the accused to be a first offender and his mitigation of being a family man, Nyamweya said the offence carried a mandatory death sentence.
