CHINA: DEATH SENTENCE FOR MURDER

XU Yuhua, a Jiangxi Province farmer, was sentenced to death for robbing and killing a woman by the Shanghai No. 2 Intermediate People's Court in China. Xu saw an advertisement on the Internet by a woman surnamed Wang asking for a roommate. He visited Wang on May 14, 2006, claiming that his sister wanted to rent the apartment. After Wang let him in, Xu cut her throat and robbed her of 3,000 yuan (US$395) cash and three credit cards. Wang's body was discovered by friends.
