a farmer from East China's Zhejiang Province was sentenced to death for murdering the headmaster of his son's school in a dispute over the boy's behavior and punishment. Zheng Yuanbo, 38, felled Huang Yusheng, headmaster of Lingkun Middle School of Wenzhou City, who slapped the face of Zheng's second-grader son, Xiaoqiang, for his disobedience in class. Huang visited Zheng's home on November 11, 2005, to discuss the incident of three days earlier when a heated argument began, the Intermediate People's Court of Wenzhou was told. Zheng then used an electric cable to strangle the headmaster before stabbing him in the neck with a knife. Huang later died of blood loss. Under the sentence, Zheng was also deprived of his political rights for life, and ordered to pay 328,754 yuan (40,537 US dollars) in compensation to the victim’s family.
