a China Southern Airlines worker was jailed for life and two associates sentenced to death for trafficking drugs on a domestic flight. Yang Xu, 35, used her position to help her friend Xu Guoying smuggle a bag of drugs onto a flight from the southern city of Shenzhen to Beijing in June 2004, a Beijing court heard. Yang was given a life sentence while Xu and his associate Wu Longqiang were sentenced to death. The case came to light when Beijing police found 2.6 kg of drugs including ketamine, marijuana and ecstasy in Xu and Wu's hotel room. Yang was subsequently arrested in Shenzhen.
