CHINA. GUANGZHOU YUEXIU DISTRICT PEOPLE'S COURT ORDERS EXECUTION OF PEOPLE INVOLVED IN DRUG TRAFFICKING

the Guangzhou Yuexiu District People's Court, China, passed sentence on Wei Fenglan, a 21 year old female, for drug trafficking.
It was alleged that on 1 March 2004, Wei obtained four bottles of shampoo containing heroin from a man in Kunming and flew with them to Guangzhou City. Police arrested her at the airport, confiscating 800.9 g of heroin. The court also passed death sentence on Zhang Chengmin for drug trafficking. It was reported that on 19 February 2001, “Zhang asked a gangster to purchase 3 kg of heroin. Police arrested the gangster, confiscating 1.48 kg of heroin. They also found 1.51 kg of heroin at Zhang's residence. Both convicts were executed on the same day.”
