CHINA: POLICEMAN GIVEN DEATH SENTENCE FOR DRUG RELATED CRIMES

a model policeman-turned-drug baron was sentenced to death while his five accomplices got varying jail terms in southern Chinese city of Guangzhou. Liu Zhaohua, 42, was sentenced by the Guangzhou Intermediate People's Court. He was convicted of producing methamphetamine, commonly known as ice and selling it in collusion with others making a profit of more than USD four million. Liu's accomplice Guo Ruirong was sentenced to death with a reprieve.
