CHINA. TEACHER EXECUTED FOR RAPING FOUR STUDENTS

Zhao Huisheng, a substitute teacher who raped four third-grade students and molested several others at a village elementary school in northwest China, was put to death. Zhao reportedly raped the students, who were around age nine, in his office when they went there to hand in homework or to be tutored by him.
He carried out the rapes in the first half of 2004. Between 2003 to 2004, he also inappropriately touched several female students during class.
Authorities at the Linxia county elementary school were only alerted to Zhao's actions after one of his victims wrote a note to the principal telling him the teacher frequently told her to go to his office "to do bad things." Police arrested Zhao in June 2004 and sentenced to death in September of that year for raping and molesting children.
