CHINA: UMI'S DEATH SENTENCE COMMUTED TO LIFE TERM

China commuted the death sentence of Malaysian national Umi Azlim Mohamad Lazim, 26, to life imprisonment. Lazim was sentenced to death after 2kg of heroin was found in her luggage when she arrived in Shantou in 2007. She is currently being held in Guanzhou prison.
