CHINA. WOMAN TO DIE FOR RAPE RING

Wang Qin, a 19-year-old woman, head of a rape and robbery ring, was sentenced to death with the possibility of life imprisonment.
Wang directed and helped young men in her gang to rape four teenage girls with whom she had argued, a Jiangxi Province court was told. The court handed down a death sentence to Wang, head of a criminal ring of nine youths in Xinfeng County, media reported. The other eight members, unemployed teens, were sentenced to six months to 18 years in jail. Wang was given a two-year reprieve, meaning the sentence would be commuted to life imprisonment if she proved herself a model inmate.
