police in China’s restive Xinjiang region executed two people allegedly involved in deadly violence over the weekend, local authorities said. The suspects, identified as Memtieli Tiliwaldi, 29, and Turson Hasan, 34, and members of the mainly Muslim Uighur minority, were “executed on the spot by police who were in the process of capturing them” in the suburbs of Kashgar, the restive city where the violence occurred.
