Cong Fukui, former executive vice-governor of Hebei Province, was sentenced to death by the Zhangjiakou City Intermediate People's Court of Hebei Province

Cong Fukui, former executive vice-governor of Hebei Province, was sentenced to death by the Zhangjiakou City Intermediate People's Court of Hebei Province.
Fukui was given the death penalty with a two-year reprieve, was stripped of his political rights for life and had all his personal assets confiscated after being found guilty of bribery.
The court held that between July 1997 and June 2000 Cong Fukui, as a state employee, had used the convenience of his position to act on behalf of others and help them to seek personal gains, and had extorted and unlawfully accepted property from others.
